I have created an approach that helps people worldwide not just relieve their chronic health symptoms, but actually heal root causes to expand their capacity to enjoy all the moments of life to the fullest.

My own gut, hormone and fatigue healing journey, alongside my passion for helping others, fuels me to help break the cycle of preventable and treatable health issues

A BIT ABOUT ME..

My name is Melissa Salmon and I am so glad that you’re here!  With a life-long passion to help others, I understand how important it is to have a deeply passionate and caring person in your corner.

More often than not, we donʼt prioritise our health until we are faced with the grief of what we have lost because of it. I learnt first hand that without our health or the health of those we love, our lives can quickly be overcome with grief of what weʼve lost.

My first lesson in this came too soon. I was just a child when I lost my dad to cancer. One moment, he was there — his smile, his presence, his impact in our community and most importantly the way he made the world feel safe. And then the next, he wasnʼtI felt the deep seated grief of what we lose when the people we love lose their health.

Your Health Is More Than Just Yours — Itʼs the Memories You Make With Those You Love.

When my father lost his health and lost his life, we lost so much more. I soon found myself in a cycle of grief and battling with my own health issues. Shortly after my dadʼs passing, I was rushed to hospital for appendicitis which led to an emergency appendectomy. Soon after this, I experienced my first anxiety attack and was so anxious from this (ironically), that I lost consciousness and landed back in hospital for observations. Whilst I seemingly recovered from these short hospital visits, my little sensitive self was struggling to grasp the intensity of this sudden life trauma. I had to process not only the grief of losing my dad, but the grief of losing all the moments and memories I should have shared with him thereafter.

Whilst I did my best to heal from this, my health problems only continued to go downhill in my twenties where I experienced digestive issues, hormonal imbalance, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I was no longer just carrying the grief of my father, I was now processing the grief of all of the things I could no longer do in my own life and the ripple effect this had on those I loved too.

At my worst, the simplest things — meeting a friend for coffee, celebrating a special moment with my boyfriend (now husband), or even walking around the block was too hard. I was trapped in my body, missing out on the life I so desperately wanted to be part of. This was where I realised losing my own health came with its own kind of grief.

I lost experiences. I lost connections. I lost me.

This sent me down a long road of self-discovery, healing and prioritising my physical and emotional health. I completed two degrees in psychology and naturopathy and became a certified yoga teacher. I was determined to break the cycle of grief and poor health, not just for me, but for the people I loved. With time, with patience, and with the right support.. I found a way to heal, get my health back and win back those precious life moments.

Thatʼs why I do what I do.

Because Iʼve lived it — I know what itʼs like to lose out on life because you or the ones you love lose their health. I know the grief of wishing someone could have been there, but being unable to. I know the ache of wanting to be there but not having the energy to be there. And I know that healing isnʼt just about getting rid of symptoms. Itʼs about reclaiming your life, your moments, your joy.

What Iʼve really come to learn about chronic health issues is that they never just affect you — they affect the people who love you. They steal time, memories, and experiences. But it doesnʼt have to be that way. Healing is possible when you prioritise your health and get the right support. And when you heal, the ripple effect flows the other way — you start to compound more moments filled with presence, love, connection, joy and living.

Your health isnʼt just yours. Itʼs the life you get to live — and the people you get to share it with.

NATUROPATHY

The health modality of naturopathy brings focus on the whole of a person, rather one particular bodily system.  This allows the discovery of underlying causes that may drive a health condition or disease.  From this, Melissa is able to establish both a short-term and long-term health and wellness treatment plan through functional pathology testing, herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, lifestyle factors, and mind-body practices.  The ultimate aim of naturopathic medicine is to bring wholesome body and mind healing to an individual.

Bachelor of Health Science, Naturopathy (BHSc – Nat). Registered with Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA).

YOGA

The movement practice of yoga encapsulates both body and mind.  Merging together a philosophy of patient introspection and science of human movement, yoga is an incredible tool in moving towards better health and wellness.  From this, Melissa adopts both Vinyasa (the flow of breath and body) and Yin (slow and deep stretching) styles of yoga teaching.

Registered Yoga Teacher, 200 Hours (RYT).

PSYCHOLOGY

The scientific discipline of psychology incorporates the study of the human mind and the way in which the brain functions.  Psychology aims to explain how human behaviour forms and continues to form through conscious and unconscious means.  Melissa’s foundational educational studies were in psychology.  She is able to use particular lifestyle coaching within her scope of practice to compliment individual health and wellness treatment plans.
